Saints’ 2025 schedule has no primetime games

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Saints head into 2025 with a new coach and plenty of question marks at quarterback. They don’t appear to be primetime players and the schedule proves it.
The Saints are one of three NFL teams, along with the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns, who will not play a primetime game according to the 2025 schedule released by the league on Wednesday. It’s the first time since 2000 that the Saints will not play at least one game on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday night.
Teams used to be required to play at least one Thursday night primetime game, but the NFL changed that in 2023. Because of flex scheduling the Saints, Titans and Browns could have games moved to the evening, but as of now they will play all of their games on Sunday afternoons. All three teams had losing records and finished last in their divisions in 2024. The Saints finished 5-12.
The Saints and Titans play each other on Dec. 28 in Nashville. The Browns will have one standalone game on Oct. 5, when they face Minnesota in London. That game will start at 8:30 a.m. CST.
New Saints head coach Kellen Moore will make his debut — along with what will be a new starting quarterback, following the retirement of Derek Carr — with back-to-back home games.
The Saints will open the season Sept. 7 in the Superdome against the Arizona Cardinals, and then host the San Francisco 49ers the following week. Both games will have noon kickoffs. It’s the first time since 2018 that the Saints have played their first two games at home.
The Saints have won six consecutive season openers, which is the longest active streak in the NFL.
Road trips to Seattle and Buffalo come next, and then two more at home against the New York Giants and New England Patriots. After another road trip to play Chicago, the first NFC South game is in Week 8 at home vs. Tampa Bay. on Oct. 26 It’s the latest the Saints have played their first division game since 2009.
The Saints’ bye comes in Week 11, on Nov. 16.
The preseason opener is Aug. 10 at the Los Angeles Chargers. The last two preseason games are in the Superdome, Aug. 17 vs. Jacksonville and Aug. 23 vs. Denver.
