Lee Nichols, a former Warren County resident, died in Greenville, Texas. 

80 YEARS AGO: 1945

Lt. James Harper was wounded in action on Okinawa. 

70 YEARS AGO: 1955

Mr. and Mrs. R. Henry Jones announced the birth of a son, Dewey, on May 10. 

60 YEARS AGO: 1965

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Beaumann announced the birth of  daughter, Carla, on May 4.

50 YEARS AGO: 1975

Murray Pinkston announced his candidacy for the office of city clerk. 

40 YEARS AGO: 1985

N.H. “Dusty” Lewis III turned six. 

30 YEARS AGO: 1995

Warren Central Principal Peter Pikul transferred to lead Warrenton Elementary. 

20 YEARS AGO: 2005

The halls of South Park Elementary school were turned into a tropical rain forest to help students learn about nature.  

10 YEARS AGO: 2015

Vicksburg student Luke Eckstein, a senior at St. Aloysius High School, was named a 2015 U.S. Presidential Scholar.
