The Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) is investigating a hit-and-run incident that injured a pedestrian Thursday night on Pemberton Square Boulevard.

The incident took place just before 11 p.m., when an unnamed pedestrian was walking southbound and was struck by the mirror of a vehicle, which continued to travel southbound. Initial reports described the vehicle as a dark-colored SUV; however, Chief of Police Penny Jones said there are conflicting reports that must be verified via security footage from the area. As of press time Friday, that information had not yet been confirmed.

The pedestrian was treated for minor injuries.
