FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Ole Miss fans are used to dreaming of a trip to Omaha every spring. Now they have to add another Midwestern city that starts with an “O” to the itinerary.

Aliyah Binford turned in an outstanding pitching performance, and Ole Miss responded after letting a four-run lead slip away to beat Arkansas 7-4 in the deciding game of the Fayetteville softball super regional on Sunday.

Ole Miss (43-19) won the first and third games of the best-of-three super regional to advance to the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City for the first time in the program’s history.

The Rebels will face Texas Tech (50-12) Thursday at 6 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN2. Ole Miss is one of five Southeastern Conference teams in the eight-team WCWS field, along with Oklahoma, Texas, Florida and Tennessee. Oregon, Texas Tech and UCLA will round out the bracket.

Ole Miss won a winner-take-all game for the second weekend in a row. They beat Arizona in the regional, then came back to win after losing 4-0 to Arkansas on Saturday night.

Lair Beautae hit a two-run home run in the first inning as the Rebels jumped out to a 4-0 lead in Game 3 on Sunday.

Arkansas rallied to tie it, but the Rebels answered back again. Mackenzie Pickens singled and scored the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly by Jordan Pone in the fourth inning. In the fifth, Pickens delivered an RBI single and Lexie Brady hit a solo home run to make it 7-4.

Binford came on in relief in the second inning and dominated the rest of the way. She retired 14 batters in a row before walking Bri Ellis with one out in the seventh inning. She struck out the next two batters to end the game and send the Rebels to Oklahoma City for the first time.
