Ira H. Davenport of Buffalo leases the Hotel Carroll Coffee Shop.

Don J. Render, industrial relations manager for LeTourneau Co., spoke at the monthly meeting of the Engineers Club of Vicksburg. 

70 YEARS AGO: 1955

Grace Morris and Ernest Turcotte were named recipients of the annual Cobb Trophy awards at the Carr Central Dad’s Banquet. 

60 YEARS AGO: 1965

Mrs. Ben Kremer was elected president of the ladies auxiliary of the Vicksburg Country Club. 

50 YEARS AGO: 1975

Groundbreaking ceremonies were held on the new site of the Rasch Chiropractic Clinic. 

40 YEARS AGO: 1985

Services were held for Mrs. Fannie Shoulders. 

30 YEARS AGO: 1995

The Mississippi River was expected to rise three feet above flood stage.

American flags were placed on gravestones at the Vicksburg National Cemetery in observance of Memorial Day.
