Malcolm Louis Carlisle

Malcolm Louis Carlisle passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2025, in Columbus, Mississippi, his home for a number of years. Malcolm was born in the Yokena community January 26, 1933.

He attended Jeff Davis Academy and graduated from Jett High School, Hinds Junior College, and Mississippi State University. He served in the U.S. Army, Special Forces during the Korean War, while stationed for four years in Germany.

He is survived by his daughter, Phyllis Carlisle Harvey; grandchildren, Keighly Vacalopoulos (John), Kristen Clemmons (Lee), Allen Harvey (Kristen), Mackenzie Harvey, and Carley Carlisle; and six great-grandchildren.

Malcolm accepted Jesus Christ at Grace Baptist Church as a teenager and was baptized at Bowmar Avenue Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Baptist Church Saturday, May 31, at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
