The Gumbo Pot, a local Vicksburg eatery, has closed its doors for good, following a Facebook post made by owner Walden Bost on Saturday.

Bost told the post that he wanted to apologize to his customers for having to close the restaurant due to unforeseen circumstances. Despite the restaurant’s closure, he will still be offering catering.

The restaurant, located at 3401 Halls Ferry Road, opened its doors in 2016 under the ownership of Perry Boyd. After Boyd sold the business, he opened another restaurant on Washington Street called Blues le Roux. Blues la Roux closed its doors in June 2024.
