“After serving in other positions for seven years, applying for the Executive Director position felt natural,” she said. “I would like to see the organization expand its programming and service area. I want to see us provide more education, particularly on teen dating violence.”

Haven House Family Shelter was established in 1985 and has been serving victims and survivors of domestic violence for more than 35 years in Vicksburg and surrounding areas. Haven House provides a 24-hour crisis line, safe shelter, outreach services, court advocacy, counseling, and referrals to community partners while promoting awareness and education to help break the cycle of abuse. Haven House is a United Way Agency, a certified shelter and an active member of the Mississippi Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

Tillotson said those in the community who would like to support Haven House can do so by making a donation, whether monetary, supplies, or through prayers.
