A fire that reportedly broke out early Sunday morning in a storage area in the building housing 10 South restaurant, The LOFTS apartments and Trustmark Bank in downtown was quickly squelched by Vicksburg Fire Department and resulted in no injuries or major damage, Vicksburg Fire Chief Derrick Stamps said.
“At approximately 3:21 a.m., the Vicksburg Fire Department confidently responded to a reported structure fire at 1301 Washington St.,” he said. “Upon arrival, crews swiftly identified flames and smoke, allowing them to execute an effective interior attack to extinguish the fire rapidly. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the damage to the structure was minimal.”
