The Vicksburg Fire Department (VFD) acted quickly to extinguish a structure fire that began with a utility pole Monday afternoon.

“At approximately 4:02 p.m., the Vicksburg Fire Department promptly responded to a structure fire at 40 Maxwell Drive,” Vicksburg Fire Chief Derrick Stamps said. “Upon arrival, crews identified a utility pole ablaze with live wires. Fire crews effectively coordinated with Entergy to ensure the electricity was cut off from the pole before successfully extinguishing the fire. Importantly, no injuries were reported.”
