Bufkin said she is optimistic about the potential of the graduating class.

“We have some incredible, hardworking people in our class and I cannot wait to see what all we will go out and accomplish.”

Bufkin is the daughter of Mickey and Mary Bufkin. She will be attending Mississippi State University majoring in biological sciences.

Slayton also spoke at graduation. He said he focused on what he has learned growing up.

Slayton will be playing tennis at Hinds Community College while working toward a career in radiology.

Slayton is the son of Kasey and Daniel Slayton.
