Vicksburg Swim Association member Kara Rowe won 15 events in the girls’ 15-and-over age division at the Stamm Meet at City Pool June 6-8.
Rowe won six events in the short course meet on Friday and nine in the long course meet contested Saturday and Sunday. She totaled 36 points in the short course events and 88 in long course races to lead the Killer Whales to the girls’ team title in both meets.
In the short course meet, Rowe won the 100 yard individual medley; 50 yard butterfly, freestyle and backstroke; and the 200 yard mixed medley and freestyle relays. During the long course meet she won the 400 meter IM and freestyle; 200 backstroke and freestyle; and the 100 freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke and backstroke.
Rowe’s time of 6:39.42 in the 400 yard individual medley shattered the team record set by Laura Butler in 2012. Rowe beat the mark by 20 seconds.
