At 6:09 p.m., the Vicksburg Fire Department was called to respond to a structure fire at 338 Marian Lane. Upon arrival, fire crews encountered visible smoke from all sides of the structure, with flames erupting through the roof. Crews are actively and aggressively combating the fire.

The Vicksburg Post is en route to the scene and will update with more information as it becomes available.

Update at 8:32 p.m. Monday: Vicksburg Fire Department firefighters contained the blaze to the bathroom. Inside, they discovered an unresponsive male who had tragically succumbed to smoke inhalation.
