MAKING THE GRADE: Northwest CC inducts local students into Phi Theta Kappa

SENATOBIA — Northwest Mississippi Community College’s Theta Sigma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa inducted new members during the Spring 2025 semester.

Phi Theta Kappa is a two-year honor society that celebrates educational excellence at two-year institutions and beyond. This honor society opens students up to multiple scholarship opportunities including transfer scholarships at state universities like Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Delta State, and the University of Southern Mississippi.

To qualify to be a part of PTK students must have completed 12 hours of coursework with at least at 3.5 GPA. Once a student is eligible, they receive an invitation, usually by mail. Local students inducted include:

  • Adelece Clark of Rolling Fork
  • Payton Feagin of Vicksburg
  • James Powell of Vicksburg
  • Jennifer Smith of Utica
