The Mississippi Department of Transportation announced the bridge closure on Mississippi 27 that was originally scheduled for this weekend has been postponed because of a chance of rain.
The closure will now begin on Friday, July 11 at 7 p.m., and continue until Monday, July 14 at 6 a.m. The work is weather-dependent and subject to change.
Mississippi 27 will be closed in both directions at the Hinds-Warren County line, at the Big Black River, to remove and replace the bridge end.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and seek alternate routes during the closure. They should also check mdottraffic.com for live updates of traffic conditions.
