Vicksburg’s Erion Wilson attends Mississippi Governor’s School

Erion Wilson was selected to participate in the 44th cohort of Mississippi Governor’s School, which took place on June 1 – June 14, 2025. Mississippi Governor’s School is a residential honors program established in 1981 by Governor William F. Winter at Mississippi University for Women. Governor’s School is designed to provide academic, creative, and leadership experiences for a limited number of rising high school juniors and seniors who have demonstrated exceptional ability and achievement in their studies and show high intellectual, creative and leadership potential.

Wilson is the son of Lakendria Tucker and Eric Wilson Sr. of Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Wilson has completed the 11th grade at River City Early College where he has received the following awards: numerous community service awards, the Tammy-Burris Smith Award, highest average in leadership, honor scholar distinction and the Cougar Award.

His additional community activities include being an active member of the Key Club, musical theatre and various community service projects.

He plans to go to medical school to pursue his dreams of becoming a psychiatrist.
