Russell Baker, serving in the Philippines with the Sixth Army, was promoted to colonel.

Attorney James L. “Buck” Penley Jr. relocated his practice to 1117 Grove St.

Kenneth Williams, owner of K&W Construction in Vicksburg, was found shot to death at his home on Highway 61 South. 

10 YEARS AGO: 2015

Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs Jr. voiced his support and excitement for the future of the Vicksburg-Tallulah Regional Airport, located in Mound, Louisiana.
