City Pool now open
Vicksburg City Pool is now open to the public for its summer swim season. The entry fee is $2 per swimmer, and there is a dress code of proper, modest swimsuits. No cotton, sports bras or T-shirts are allowed in the water.

Patrons will be able to swim for two-hour sessions, from 1-3 p.m. and 3-5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Monday. Wednesday and Thursday are reserved for daycare centers and special groups by reservation. The pool is closed on Tuesday and Sunday. It will also be closed on July 12 for a Vicksburg Swim Association meet, and for the July 4 holiday.

Lap Swimming is available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday on non-swim lesson weeks, and noon to 1 p.m. during swim lesson weeks.

The schedule is based on a limited swimmer to lifeguard ratio.

The maximum swimmer capacity will be 60 patrons for each two-hour period. Because of the shortage of lifeguards, the deep end of the pool will be closed.

For more information, call City Pool manager Sylvia Gurtowski at 601-801-3831 or email her at sgurtowski@vicksburg.org.
