While the adults made their way around the course, nearly 20 children ages 5-14 participated in the first of two youth golf camps scheduled at Clear Creek this summer. They did putting and driving drills, learned the fundamentals of the game, and finished Wednesday’s activities with a fun water balloon fight.

The youth camp is scheduled to conclude Thursday, but another is scheduled for July 21-23. The camp will run from 8:30 to 11 a.m. each day and the cost is $150 per person, or $120 for those with multiple siblings. To register or for more information, call Joseph Dendy at 601-665-5308 or email him at josephmdendy@gmail.com.

Clear Creek will also host the Warren County Open July 26-27. The county’s championship tournament is open to all players ages 18 and up, with a championship division for players ages 59 and under and a senior division for those 60 and up.

The entry fee is $100 for Clear Creek pass holders and $150 for non-pass holders. The registration deadline is July 25 at noon. Play will begin at 8 a.m. on July 26, with tee times both days.

For more information or to register, call the Clear Creek clubhouse at 601-638-9395.
