Summer sizzle: From work to play, summer brings plenty of sunny activities

Summer is in full swing in Vicksburg and Warren County, bringing with it a wide variety of activities as residents take advantage of bright days to have fun.
From water balloon fights to afternoons spent at the Catfish Row Art Park splash pad, there are plenty of ways to stay cool in the midst of the Mississippi heat.
But summer also brings its share of hazards. Dangerous heat can cause a number of problems, as can almost daily afternoon thunderstorms, such as the one that blew through the area Tuesday night, taking down some large trees at Clear Creek Golf Course in the process.
