The Mississippi Tourism Association (MTA) has announced the election of Sam Andrews of Vicksburg to its board of directors. Andrews will represent the Capital/River region, bringing years of leadership in both public service and hospitality to the statewide organization, MTA officials said.
Andrews currently owns Anchuca Historic Mansion and Inn with his wife Anna Kate Doiron Andrews of Vicksburg. In addition to his work in tourism and hospitality, Andrews has held key roles in government, including serving as chief of staff to the mayor of Vicksburg and later as a senior advisor in the Office of the Governor. MTA cited Andrews’ experience in tourism, public affairs, and economic development as a strong addition to its board.
The Mississippi Tourism Association is a statewide organization dedicated to promoting and growing Mississippi’s tourism industry. Through education, advocacy, and uniting professionals across the hospitality and travel sectors, MTA works to enhance Mississippi’s profile as a premier destination and to support the businesses and communities that depend on tourism.
“MTA is thrilled to welcome Sam to our board,” MTA Executive Director Danielle Morgan said. “His hospitality experience combined with his public sector insight perfectly align with our strategic goals: uniting stakeholders, supporting education in the tourism sector, and elevating Mississippi’s profile as a leading destination.”
“It’s an honor to serve alongside leaders who are passionate about telling Mississippi’s story,” Andrews said. “Tourism is more than attracting visitors—it’s about creating opportunity, strengthening community, and preserving what makes us unique, then inviting the world to come experience it firsthand.”
