Louis Chatham died.

Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Grant and Mrs. J.M. Buchanan returned from a visit to Orange, New Jersey.

Holy Trinity Episcopal church held an open house for the community. 

60 YEARS AGO: 1965

Members of the First Presbyterian Church honored Dr. and Mrs. W.F. Mansell, who were in their 25th year of service to the church. 

50 YEARS AGO: 1975

Services were held for Alvin D. White. 

40 YEARS AGO: 1985

Mr. Albert Ray Wilkinson died. 

30 YEARS AGO: 1995

A stolen van was recovered when Mayor Joe Loviza spotted it parked at the site of the new convention center on Pearl Street. 

20 YEARS AGO: 2005

An unidentified pedestrian was killed on Interstate 20 after reportedly jumping in front of a car traveling toward the Mississippi River Bridge.

10 YEARS AGO: 2015

The Vicksburg National Military Park marked Vicksburg’s surrender during the Civil War with a re-enactment.
