Betty Joyce Foster

Betty Joyce Foster died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at River Region Medical Center. She was 73.

She was born in Vicksburg Sept. 10, 1941, to Joe Bryant Willis Sr. and Maude Lee Anderson Willis, but had lived in Port Gibson for many years. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Claiborne County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Augustine Lynn Foster; grandson, Jacob Lynn Foster; brother, Joe Bryant Willis Jr.; and sisters, Carolyn Neese and Lorraine Andrus.

Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Foster of Vicksburg; three sons, Joseph Foster of Vicksburg, Preston Foster of Brandon, and Benito Foster of Port Gibson; brother, Hackley Willis of Haughton, La.; three sisters, Ann Beaube of Dentonville, Hilda Franklin of Sand Hill and Martha Rials of Harrisville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson with the Rev. David Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Wintergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg, and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at Glenwood in Port Gibson.

Pallbearers will be Joey Foster, Gerry Smith, Patrick Granger, Shelton Raner, Bo Hardin, and Chris Bowser.  Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Franklin, Chris Dunn, and Harroll Rials.
