STARKVILLE — Mississippi State’s first loss of the season came from an unlikely source.

Andre Davis brought in the go-ahead run with a bases-loaded walk in the top of the eighth inning, and Arkansas-Pine Bluff beat the Bulldogs 3-2 Tuesday at Dudy Noble Field.

The loss snapped Mississippi State’s 13-game winning streak to start the season, and an 11-game winning streak against teams from the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
