Junior Lee Nix died Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

He was 55.

Mr. Nix was born May 20, 1959, to the late Freddie Mae Bell and late James Bell in Benoit, Mississippi.

He was of the Baptist faith and attended the Vicksburg-Warren School District.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Shantay-Carter Crumpton; sister, LeDoria Nix; and brother, Laddie B. Nix.

Survivors include his wife, Angeleane Jones of Vicksburg; three daughters, Junialeane Nix, and Shonda Carter, both of Vicksburg, and Crystal Jones-Jayner of Detroit; one son, Junior Lee Nix II; three sisters, Beatrice Elsworth of Greenville and Ruthie Mae Hudson and Shirlean Sheppard, both of Vicksburg, nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Greater Grove Street Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Casey Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
