William Davy ‘Hot Shot’ Jones

ROLLING FORK — William Davy “Hot Shot” Jones died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was 64.

Mr. Jones was a lifelong resident of Sharkey County where he was a self-employed mechanic. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee and Hazel Canterbury Jones; a son, Billy Wayne Jones; and a sister, Mildred Jones.

He is survived by his daughter, Regina Mullins of Shannon; son, Allen Jones of Quitman; two sisters, Faye Brooks of Rolling Fork and Willie Mae Blackstock of Cary; two brothers, Lester Jones of Nettleton and Johnny Jones of Nashville; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork with Norman Maranto officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service.
