Women caught on tape in burglary

Two women caught on video stealing a vacuum cleaner from a car at Riverwalk Casino Saturday are on the lam, and Vicksburg police are seeking help finding them.

072415-Woman in White Hat 072415-Woman with Cell PhoneThursday, police released low quality stills of a casino surveillance video that shows two black women — one wearing a white hat and a pink shirt or dress carrying a purse and the other in a red or pink shirt and black shorts holding a cellphone.

“Two females are seen on video surveillance entering a vehicle and stealing a vacuum cleaner. The two unidentified females attempted to enter into several other vehicles on the parking lot,” Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Anyone with information about the suspects is encouraged to call Vicksburg police at 601-636-2511 or Central Mississippi Crime Stoppers at 601-355-8477. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of a felony suspect. Callers remain anonymous and do not have to testify in court.

 

TVs, jewelry hot in burglaries

Burglars swiped four televisions and thousands of dollars in assorted jewelry in five burglaries Wednesday in Warren County.

At 8:49 a.m., a flat screen television valued at $500, and a laptop computer valued at $600 were reported stolen from a home in the 400 block of Ridgewood Street, according to Warren County sheriff’s records.

A 55- or 60-inch television valued at $1,500 and a 20 or 24-inch television valued at $300 were reported missing at 11:51 a.m. from a home in the 5500 block of Tucker Road, according to sheriff’s records.

At 2:24 p.m., a 42-inch television valued at $450, assorted jewelry valued at $2,000, coins valued at $200 and a .22-caliber revolver valued at $200 were reported missing from a home in the 7600 block of Halls Ferry Road.

Reports of jewelry thefts continued at 5:41 p.m. when a gold and silver bracelet valued at $200, a gold bracelet valued at $200, an amethyst ring, two platinum rings valued at $400 and a gold bracelet were reported missing in the 1500 block of Oak Ridge Road. Additionally, a window unit air conditioner was reported stolen from the home, according to sheriff’s records.

At 6:21 p.m., $80, a diamond ring valued at $1,700, a Revlon duffle bag valued at $200 and between 15 and 18 women’s dresses were reported missing from a home in the 9200 block of Mississippi 3.

 

One held for MDOC

A Vicksburg man was held without bail Thursday for the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Jimmy Reid, 38, 1748 Old Highway 27, was held Thursday after being arrested on a warrant.
