His attorney Eugene Perrier entered a not guilty plea on behalf of Shelton, who appeared in court shacked and handcuffed wearing an orange Warren County Jail jumpsuit.

Shelton was arrested following a party Nov. 21 in the 3000 block of Washington Street where as many as 250 people were attending.

Shelton is accused of shooting Alton Burden in the upper left thigh and Tyree Barnett in the left arm. A bullet also grazed the left ear of Shamarr Horton, according to the indictment against Shelton.

All three shooting victims were treated and released from hospitals.

Shelton has been held without bail since his arrest. Patrick said he would entertain a monition to set bail for Shelton during an Aug. 14 hearing.

Additionally, a man accused of kidnapping and attempted murder will stand trial for an unrelated burglary.

Patrick also set trial for Cory Michael Gibson, 37, 63 Gibson Road Circle, for Feb. 29 after he was indicted by the Warren County grand jury for burglary.

On June 24, Gibson is accused of breaking into a home in the 100 block of Grey Oaks Drive and stealing property, according to the indictment against him.

Five days later, in separate case that was not presented to this term of the grand jury, Gibson and Sherwood Winston Lyons III, 39, are accused of kidnapping a woman and throwing her from a moving vehicle, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace has said.

“I absolutely intend to present it to the next grand jury,” District Attorney Ricky Smith said of the kidnapping and attempted murder case.

Other arraignments held Friday including name, age, address, charge and arrest or offense date include:

• Eric Dewayne Bailey, 19, 105 Red Oak Drive — burglary of a dwelling, March 26.

• Christopher Lawrance Coleman, 28, 312 N. Elm St., Tallulah — aggravated assault with extreme indifference. Coleman and another defendant are accused of pistol-whipping a man Jan. 21.
