Wade H. ‘Hamp’ Hutchins

Wade H. “Hamp” Hutchins died Friday, July 31, 2015 at Merit Health River Region Medical Center. He was 99.

Hamp was a lifelong resident of Claiborne County where he had farming interests. He was a veteran of WWII and a member of the Midway Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Morgan and Katie Fisher Hutchins; three sisters, Amelia Grove, Ruby Trappozzano and Lillie Mae Bearden; and three brothers, Zollie Hutchins, Billy Hutchins and James E. Hutchins.

Hamp is survived by his nieces, Barbara Gust, Charlotte Snook, Betty Hazelwood, Martha Holman, Shirley Leming, Sue Groves, Kathie Marie Morris and Gayle Newton; his nephews, Ralph Bearden and Danny Ray Groves and two great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, in the Chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica with Donnie Cain officiating and interment will follow in the Utica Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jackie Ross, Tristan Roberts, Mike Brogden, Kenny Rainer, Russell McGuffee and John Baker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Dorman, Dick Green, Billy Byrnes, Jimmy Flowers, and Richard Taylor.
