Hannah Embry did a little of everything Saturday afternoon to lead Porters Chapel Academy to a win.

Embry, PCA’s eighth-grade pitcher, allowed two hits and two runs in four innings and helped her own cause by going 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs as the Lady Eagles routed Tensas Academy 11-2.

PCA (11-5-1) scored in all three of its at-bats in the game. It plated three runs in the first inning, six in the second and two in the bottom of the third. The game was halted after the top of the fourth by the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools’ 1 hour, 30 minute time limit.

Raylee Barwick doubled, walked twice, drove in one run and scored two for PCA. Mallarie Ashley had an RBI double and Rheagan Smith was 1-for-2 with a triple and an RBI.

Barwick and Ashley each had an RBI double during the big second-inning rally. Sabrina Embry, Hannah’s sister, also had an RBI single in that inning.

The win was the fourth in a row for PCA. Later Saturday, its junior varsity team also scored a win by beating the home school Jackson Victors 8-2.

Porters Chapel will return to action Tuesday, when it hosts Trinity at Bazinsky Park in a District 5-A game at 6:30 p.m.
