A fourth suspect charged in an attempted bank robbery Wednesday was arraigned in Vicksburg Municipal Court this morning.

Greg Ross, 18, 304 Melrose, was arrested Thursday morning at his home, Sgt. Billy Brown of the Vicksburg Police Department said.

Ross spent Thursday night in the Warren County Jail instead of being transferred to FBI custody.

“He may be in our custody for a few days until they can come get him,” Brown said.

Already in federal custody are Kevin Palmer, 17, 107 Arbor Lane; Marquis McCroy, 18, 400 Melrose Ave.; and Josef Buchanan, 18, 409 Melrose Ave.

The three were arrested hours after an 8:30 a.m. robbery attempt at the Mutual Credit Union branch at Waterways Experiment Station.

They were arraigned in federal court Wednesday afternoon and were being held in the Madison County Detention Center.

All four teens face a possible sentence of 20 years if convicted on charges of attempted bank robbery.

Brown would not comment on the possibility of future arrests.

“All I can say is the investigation is continuing,” he said.

Employees at the bank told police they didn’t spot a gun, but a .25-caliber automatic pistol was found in the parking lot.

Tellers said four men showed up 30 minutes before the bank’s 9 a.m. opening time, and they thought they were maintenance workers. A teller then spotted one of the men pull a ski mask over his face and police were called.
