Vicksburg High blasted four home runs as it came from behind to thrash Madison Central, 20-9, in the second game of a doubleheader Tuesday.

Kassidy Dollar’s three-run homer highlighted a nine-run sixth inning for the Missy Gators (6-2), who trailed 7-3 going into the fourth.

Kelsey Hudson and Viola Howard added two-run homers and Krystal Lofton added a solo shot against the Lady Jaguars, who were the North State runner-up last year.

Vicksburg committed six errors in the opener and lost, 8-7.

“Our bats woke up in the second game,” VHS coach Josh Harper said. “We got all of our errors out of the way, I guess.”

In the win, Emily Mathes went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and Dana Daigre had two hits, including a run-scoring triple. Nugent went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Howard also doubled and Lofton was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Dollar was also 2-for-3. Amber Landers pitched the win.

In the loss, Nugent was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Kayla Greenlee and Lofton also drove in runs.

Harper was encouraged by one thing in the defeat, in which the Missy Gators scored twice to pull within a run in their last at-bat.

“Even at our sloppiest, we still could have pulled it out,” he said.

NW Rankin 10, WC 0

Warren Central (7-1) booted a chance to knock off Northwest Rankin by allowing eight unearned runs, including six on five errors in the fifth inning.

Shemika Carson, Heather Barnes, Lashandra Williams and Hayley Martin all singled for the Lady Vikes, who left runners on in three of the game’s five innings.

“We just couldn’t get the key hits,” WC coach Lucy Young said.

Sebastopol 16, St. Al 1

Laura Beth Lyons had an RBI single for the Lady Flashes (2-3, 0-2 Division 8-1A), but Sebastopol countered with a nine-hit attack led by Angie Pullin’s fourth-inning grand slam.
