WILLIE CHARLES WANSLEY
VALLEY PARK Willie Charles “Will” Wansley died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was 28.
Born in Jackson, Mr. Wansley had been a lifelong resident of Valley Park. He was a graduate of Sharkey-Issaquena Academy. He received his bachelor’s degree in agriculture-economics from Mississippi State University where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. He was a farmer and partner in Redwood Custom Services. He was a member of Valley Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, Tom and Mary Steen Wansley of Florence; two sisters, Tommie Ann Bays of Brandon and Fran Braxton of Sulphur Springs, Texas; two brothers, David Wansley of Vicksburg and Tandy Wansley of Florence; and seven nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with Dr. Chuck Herring, pastor of Richland Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Sinai Cemetery in Florence.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Trey Heigle, Sterling Woodruff, Russ Stigall, Steve Hunter, Jeff Cox, Albert Dornbusch and Jason Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kelly Perry, R.P. Grimes, William Thigpen, Newell Simrall, Joseph L. Cox and fraternal brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha.
