JACKSON MAN CHARGED IN TWO VEHICLE THEFTS

A Jackson man was in the Warren County Jail this morning on charges of auto theft, Capt. Robert Dowe of the Vicksburg Police Department said.

Gary McClendon, 44, 3709 Bailey Ave., was arraigned in Vicksburg Municipal Court Monday on two counts of auto theft, Dowe said.

McClendon was picked up from the Copiah County Jail after police connected him with a GMC Suburban reported missing from George Carr last year and a Nissan Maxima taken from Blackburn Motor Co. in May, Dowe said.

BOOTY COULD BE USED BY CYCLING BRASS BAND

Musical instruments for three and bicycles for three were among the items reported missing from a house on Avenue E, Capt. Robert Dowe of the Vicksburg Police Department said.

A resident in the 900 block of Avenue E told police a trombone, a trumpet and a saxaphone, in addition to three bicycles and a treadmill, all valued at $1,800, were missing from her home, Dowe said.
