BERRY BROWN

Services for Berry Brown will be at 11 a.m. Friday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roosevelt Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Brown died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, at ParkView Regional Medical Center.

He was 95.

Mr. Brown was a retired barber and a member of First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Brown and Carrie Brown; two sisters, Geneva Brown and Arnetta M. Brown; and a brother, William Brown Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Ada Jones Brown of Vicksburg; four sons, Eddie Mason, Elvis D. Warner, Eugene Warner and James Brown, all of Vicksburg; six daughters, Margaret Mason of Los Angeles, Ella M. Tucker and Floretha West, both of Gardena, Calif., and Ora Bennett, Shirley Warner Preacely and Carrie M. Hagan, all of Vicksburg; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

BOBBY PINKNEY

Services for Bobby “Pete” Pinkney will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James A.M.E. Church. Burial will follow at Mount Alban Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Pinkney died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at University Medical Center in Jackson.

He was 37.

Mr. Pinkney was employed with Humes Landscaping Service. He was a former employee of the City of Vicksburg.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Lee Pinkney of Edwards and Bobby Pinkney Jr. of Vicksburg; his mother, Annie Marie Pinkney of Vicksburg; three brothers, Jessie Pinkney, James Earl Pinkney and Levon Pinkney, all of Vicksburg; his fiancee, Carolynn Clayborn of Vicksburg; two uncles, Robert Pinkney and Hezekiah Pinkney, both of Vicksburg; and two aunts, Vennie Jackson of Utica and Alice Curtis of Vicksburg.

Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

GEORGIA RICHARDSON

PRESTON, Miss. Georgia Richardson died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

She was 78.

Mrs. Richardson, a homemaker, was born in Vicksburg. She was a member of Jackson Field Baptist Church and had lived in Preston, Miss., for a number of years.

She is survived by her husband, Houston Richardson of Preston, and two brothers, Walter Cox Jr. and F.J. “Dutch” Glassl, both of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Nowell Funeral Home in Louisville, Miss., with the Rev. Bobby Joe Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Jackson Field Cemetery.

WILLIE GEORGE WALKER SR.

WILMINGTON, Del. Willie George Walker Sr. died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, in Wilmington, Del.

He was 52.

Mr. Walker had lived in Wilmington for a number of years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lizzett Williams Walker; his maternal grandparents, Charlie Williams and Arrila Williams; and his paternal grandfather, Eddie Walker.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Walker of Wilmington; three sons, Carlos Walker and Willie George Walker Jr., both of Wilmington, and Darrell Walker of the U.S. Marine Corps in Germany; his father, Lee J. Walker of Vicksburg; and three sisters, Debra Hawkins and Pamela DeFrance, both of Vicksburg, and Clarone Pettis of Memphis.
