NORMAN DALE ANDERSON

Norman Dale Anderson died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at his home. He was 73.

Born in Pine Bluff, Ark., Mr. Anderson had been a resident of Vicksburg most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served during World War II. He was a retired shipping clerk with Anderson-Tully Company.

He is survived by two stepsons, Robert Tucker Jr. of Meridian and Jerry Tucker of Soledad, Calif.; two brothers, Marvin Anderson of Vicksburg and Donald Anderson of Rome, Ga.; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 Wednesday night at the funeral home.

DOROTHY KATZENMEYER DOWLEN

Dorothy Katzenmeyer Dowlen died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at her home. She was 96.

Born in Vicksburg, Mrs. Dowlen was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier Academy. She also lived in Washington, D.C., for a number of years. After retiring from the U.S. government, she moved to Miami, Fla., where she was employed as a clerk for Dade County.

She had lived in Vicksburg for the past 15 years. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eunice Strickland and Helen Wilkerson; and a brother, Jack Katzenmeyer.

She is survived by a niece, Delores Salmon of Vicksburg; a nephew, Jim Salmon of Vicksburg; and other relatives.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor Joseph Koury officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 Wednesday night at the funeral home with wake at 6:30.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Fisher, Jessie Davenport, Robert Daniel Bliss, David W. Ball, Jay Russell Johnson, Richard R. Johnson, J. Steven Jones and Robert Nelson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Raphael Franco, W. Rodger Dowlen, William Shappley, Joe Gerache Sr., John Cesare, Ural Bliss, Hardy Katzenmeyer, James M. Salmon Jr. and Scott Michael Bliss.

Memorials may be made to Vicksburg Catholic School, 1900 Grove St.

ESTELLA MARSHALL GREEN

PORT GIBSON Estella Marshall Green died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at her home in Port Gibson. She was 60.

Mrs. Green was a member of Forest Grove Christian Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Porter of Chicago; her mother, Aurilla D. Hill of Port Gibson; three brothers, Carl Hill of Port Gibson, Robert Becks of Vallejo, Calif., and Arthur Marshall of New Mexico; a sister, Lucille Davis Turner of Port Gibson; two grandchildren; aunts, uncles and other relatives including Willie J. O’Quinn of Lorman.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Forest Grove Christian Church in Pattison with Willie Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 until 7 Wednesday night at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. Thursday until the service at the church.
