CLETUS RUTH HADAD

Cletus Ruth Hadad died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at her home. She was 74.

A native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Hadad was the daughter of the late Henry Arnold and Bertha Logan Guidry. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church and attended St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hadad Jr.

She is survived by a son, John “Trip” Hadad III of Vicksburg; three daughters, Gail H. Manwiller of Portland, Ore., and Dolly H. Claypool and Carol Ann Murphy, both of Vicksburg; a brother, Ray Powell of Doyline, La.; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with Les Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Alan Bagby, Tommy Hoben, Bob Anderton, Randy Thorne, Joe Bonelli, Carl Koestler, Gaddis Guider and Charles Toney Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Beauman, Bill Cessna and members of the Vicksburg Fire Department.

FLOYD KELLY SR.

MONROE, La. Floyd Kelly Sr. died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000. He was 81.

Mr. Kelly was a member of College Place Baptist Church. He was owner and operator of Motel Shell for many years and an employee of Sunbelt Plastics.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Jones Kelly; and a granddaughter, Laura Nell Hollis.

Survivors include three sons, Floyd Kelly Jr. and Jerry Kelly, both of Vicksburg, and Steve Kelly of Puckett; five daughters, Mary Francis Goodson of Bastrop, La., Joyce Dollar and Elaine Williams, both of Vicksburg, Helen McDowell of Kilgore, Texas, and Glenda Price of Monroe; a sister, Carrie Kelly; 26 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and other relatives.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe with the Rev. Jeff Burns officiating. Burial will follow at Monroe Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 9 Tuesday night at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be the grandsons.

JAMES RONALD REEVES

EDWARDS James Ronald Reeves died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at his home in Edwards. He was 53.

A native of Greer, S.C., Mr. Reeves had been living in the Edwards community for the past 10 years. He was a regional food sales manager in Atlanta before moving to Edwards. He was a member of the Bailey Masonic Lodge in Greer and was a member of the Edwards Baptist Church where he served as Sunday school president, superintendent and sang in the choir.

He was preceded in death by his father, Troy T. Reeves.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Gayle Reeves of Edwards; a son, John Angelo of Ridgeland; a daughter, Lori Penton of Brandon; his mother, Audrey Few Reeves of Greer; and two grandchildren, Stephanie Gayle Penton of Brandon and Mary Gina Penton of Brandon; and other relatives in Greer.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Edwards Baptist Church with Dr. Russell McIntire officiating. Burial will follow at Edwards Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until the service Thursday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Jerrell Strawn, Larry Dickson, Bob Fisher, Larry Smith, Billy Smith, Steven Height, John Wheeless, Nathan Baraham and Andy Branciere.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Wilkerson, Mike Mitchell, John Thompson, John Carroll, Jerry McWilliams, Eastside AA Group of Vicksburg and the men of the Grace Sunday school class of Edwards Baptist Church.
