GEORGE PEARSON IVY SR.

JACKSON George Pearson Ivy Sr. died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at Mississippi State Veterans Home in Jackson. He was 75.

Mr. Ivy was born in Greenville. He was retired from Waterways Experiment Station and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ivy; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Ivy.

He is survived by six children, Charles Ivy, Joyce Lenoir, Doris Lewis and Michael Ivy, all of Jackson, Brenda Dotson of Round Rock, Texas, and George Ivy Jr. of Vicksburg; a sister, Ruby Meeks of Greenville; two brothers, Elbert Ivy Jr. of Kansas City, Kan., and Charles Ivy of New Jersey; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Westhaven Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. Jeremy Tobin officiating.
