Firefighters battle a blaze at 1305 South St. Wednesday morning. Lt. Rose Shaifer of the Vicksburg Fire Department said firefighters were called to the vacant two-story building around 4:11 a.m. No one was injured. Shaifer said about 50 percent of the building was destroyed, but the cause of the fire was still under investigation. The owner of the building was not known. (The Vicksburg Post/PAT SHANNAHAN)
