[02/26/01] Ryan Hearn threw a five-inning no-hitter, the second for St. Aloysius in two days, as the Flashes pounded Greenville-St. Joe, 13-0, Saturday.
“He was spotting his fastball inside and outside and keeping them off balance with his slider,” St. Al coach Joe Graves said of his senior right-hander, who struck out eight and walked two.
Joey Lyons threw a five-inning no-hitter in a 17-0 throttling of Pisgah Friday.
The Flashes’ bats were still alive Saturday. Keith Flowers blasted a three-run homer and Clay Simmons went 4-for-5 with a double and three RBIs for St. Al, which cranked out 16 hits to improve to 3-0.
Charlie Amborn went 3-for-3 while Aaron George had two hits and two RBIs, including a double, and Hearn had two hits and two RBIs.
