“It was like a little Get in the bullpen and get warm’ kind of outing,” PCA coach Randy Wright said.

The Eagles, who won their sixth straight to improve to 6-3, also got strong efforts from Kyle Ehrhardt and Walter Bliss at the plate.

Ehrhardt went 2-for-2 with a double and four RBIs, while Bliss drove in two runs with a single. Andrew Embry also had a double and Dustin Abbott walked and scored three runs for the Eagles, who jumped in front 8-0 in the bottom of the first.

PCA added two runs in the third and three in the fourth to end the game by the 12-run mercy rule and send former PCA assistant football coach Andy Hopkins, now the Pine Hills football and baseball coach, down to defeat.

“A lot of the guys know him and they wanted to win,” Wright said of facing Hopkins.
