Mean Green trailed most of the way against Georgia, but kept the deficit around 10 points until the final five minutes. Then, a series of turnovers allowed Georgia to blow the game open. Williams had five points for Mean Green, Ferguson added four, and VHS’ Tiffany Hubbard had two.

Mean Green, the Mississippi state champions, went 0-3 in the pool-play portion of the 70-team tournament and failed to advance to the elimination round.
