[11/14/01]Vandals struck Clear Creek Golf Course for the second straight weekend, damaging a green and two fairways, course pro Randy Tupper said.

The vandals apparently drove a pickup truck on the first green and the first and ninth fairways late Saturday night, Tupper said. The damage was discovered Sunday.

“This time of year it’s bad because the turf can’t heal itself. So these marks will be there until May or June of next year,” Tupper said. “If we have to replace the turf it could get expensive.”

Vandals also struck the course on Nov. 3, damaging golf carts and the driving range. A $500 reward is being offered by the Department of Parks and Recreation for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
