LIZZIE MITCHELL EDWARDS

Lizzie Mitchell Edwards died today, Dec. 19, 2001, at her home. She was 86.

A homemaker, Mrs. Edwards was a member of Springhill Baptist Church where she was a member of the deaconess board.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Edwards Sr.; a son, James Mitchell Jr.; her parents, Clinton Brown and Betty Schuler; two brothers, Henry Schuler and Robert Schuler; and two sisters, Annie Mae Floyd and Nancy Cloyd.

She is survived by two sons, Henry Mitchell of Brooklyn, N.Y., and J.B. Edwards Jr. of Vicksburg; two daughters, Ronetta Miller and Rosie Edwards, both of St. Louis, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and other relatives.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

BLACKMAN R. HARRIED

Services for Blackman R. “B.R.” Harried will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rock of Ages Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Wood Baptist Church Cemetery in Fayette.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Williams Funeral Service.

Mr. Harried died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at his home. He was 73

He retired from Waterways Experiment Station and was a member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Harried; and his son, Blackman R. Harried Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Marie James Harried; four daughters, Diana Harried Hoskins and Edith Washington, both of Vicksburg, Sandra Harried Linson and Betty H. Green, both of Jackson; and 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and other relatives including the Harried and Reed families of Fayette, the Darden and Naylor families of Vicksburg, Daryl Hunter and Rhonda Hunter, both of Kennesaw, Ga., and Phyllis H. Thomas of Dothan, Ala.

HENRY M. JARMON

Henry M. Jarmon died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 79.

Born in Darnell, La., Mr. Jarmon had lived in Vicksburg since 1946. He was a retired supervisor for Baxter-Wilson Steam Plant. He was a veteran of the Navy, having served during World War II. He was a member of Hyland Masonic Lodge No. 113 where he served as secretary for the past 42 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Pauline W. Jarmon; his brother, R.L. Jarmon; and his sister, Frances Sherman.

He is survived by his wife, Ole Mae Jarmon of Vicksburg; his son, Dr. Henry Jarmon Jr. of Vicksburg; two daughters, Mary Jo Jarmon of Vicksburg and Jeanette Jarmon of Clinton; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be members of the Hyland Masonic Lodge.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

LOIS LYMAN LEIPPER

UPLAND, Calif. Lois Lyman Leipper died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, in Upland, Calif. She was 80.

A former resident of Vicksburg Mrs. Leipper had lived in Upland for the past three years. She graduated from the University of Illinois. She was a newspaper editor and wrote a newspaper column for the Clarendon Hills Doings in Illinois. She had also lived in Tennessee where she worked with the Girl Scouts of America.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kenneth Leipper; her parents and a sister.

She is survived by two sons, James K. Leipper Jr. of Upland and John Elliot Leipper of Encinitas, Calif.; her daughter, Melinda McAllister Delgado of Houston, Texas; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at a later date.

IRIS ELIZABETH LLOYD

Iris Elizbath Lloyd died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at ParkView Regionasl Medical Center. She was 39.

Born in Vicksburg, Miss Lloyd was a 1980 graduate of West Aurora High School in Aurora, Ill. She also attended Barnes Community College in Aurora. She was a member of Faith Christian Center.

She is survived by her father, Lorenzo Walker of Oakland, Calif.; her mother, Lillie Bell Lloyd of Vicksburg; her fiance, Timothy Kelly of Vicksburg; three brothers, Darryl Caldwell of Vicksburg, and Darrasis Walker and Trevor Walker, both of Oakland; her sister, Sharon Lloyd of Vicksburg; her maternal grandmother, Geraldine Lloyd of Vicksburg; her maternal great-great-grandmother Alberta Burse of Clinton; and other relatives.

Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

LEONARD SELMON

Leonard Selmon died Monday Dec. 17, 2001, at his home. He was 70.

Mr. Selmon retired from Anderson-Tully Co. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Judorn and Annie Bell Selmon; and two brothers, Bernard Selmon and Joe Lewis Selmon.

He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Selmon Phelps and Lillie Selmon, both of Vicksburg; a son, Warren County Supervisor Charles Selmon of Vicksburg; four sisters, Olor Mae Selmon, Emma Mae Frazier and Lizzie Mae Selmon, all of Utica, and Willie Mae Roach of Jackson; and two brothers, Willie John Selmon of Louisiana and Leon Selmon of Utica.
