Vicksburg Police spokesman Jamee Carter said the shootings occurred at about 2:30 on the parking lot of Exxon Jubilee store No. 114 at Clay Street and Mission 66 after an argument among at least seven people.

By the time police arrived, all five victims had been taken to ParkView, which is about a quarter-mile away, by private vehicle, Carter said.

Cornelius Cornell Thomas, 20, 214 Erves Circle, was arrested at 6:47 a.m. today and charged at the Vicksburg Police Department with being an accessory after the fact. He was being held in the Issaquena County Jail, Carter said.

Police were following leads and expected further arrests and charges, she said. Detective Lt. Walter Beamon, along with Detective Virdell Lewis and Officer Malcolm Lilly were working the case, Carter said.
