Ishamel Maurice Singleton, formerly of Vicksburg, died Monday, March 19, 2002, in Decatur, Ga. He was 25.
Mr. Singleton was born in Flint, Mich., and attended high school in Vicksburg.
He is survived by his parents, John and Marceline Singleton of Vicksburg; four brothers, Elrick Christian of Saginaw, Mich., Shabozz Singleton of Flint and Willie C. Moors and James Moors, both of Jackson; a sister, Tanna Nicole Singleton of Vicksburg; four daughters, Gabrielle Singleton, Jaerka Carr and Javia Lockett, all of Vicksburg, and Timoya Ware of Okolona; a son, Karl Michael Graves of Vicksburg; uncles; aunts; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends, including Mignon Bernard of Decatur and Mattie Robinson and Daisy Harbour, both of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Travelers Rest Baptist Church, 718 Bowmar Ave. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Saturday until the service at the church.
I ALBERT C. TANNER SR.
BROOKHAVEN Albert C. Tanner Sr. died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 74.
Mr. Tanner, a former Vicksburg resident, retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was also retired from the Mississippi Forestry Commission.
He was a member of East Lincoln Baptist Church in Brookhaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe N. and Retta Olis Faris Tanner; and his wife, Mary Lizabeth “Libby” Graham Tanner.
Survivors include a son, Albert C. “Chip” Tanner Jr. of Brookhaven; two daughters, Brenda Baty and Debi Mason, both of Hattiesburg; a sister, Josie Rogillio of Natchez; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Brookhaven Funeral Home. Burial will follow at East Lincoln Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
TRUDY ELIZABETH WILLIAMS
Trudy Elizabeth Williams died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 49.
Mrs. Williams was a native of Simmesport, La., and had lived most of her life in the Eagle Lake community. She worked as a school bus driver for the Vicksburg Warren School District.
She was a member of Eagle Lake Baptist Church and the Rockin’ Grandmothers Bowling League.
She is survived by her husband, Norman Williams of Eagle Lake; three sons, Kenny Williams, Johnnie Williams and Scott Williams, all of Vicksburg; one daughter, Shona Cook of Vicksburg; a brother, Dwayne Charles Roy of Vicksburg; a sister, Tonga Lee Vincent of Vicksburg; 10 grandchildren; and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jack Cooper, Mike Ouzts, James Brown, Tommy Gordon, Joshua Roy and Larry Vinson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Francis Hedrick, Shirley Nevels, Angelina Garcia and the doctors and nursing staff of the fifth floor of River Region Medical Center.
