JAMES PATRICK DONOVAN

James Patrick “Pat” Donovan died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 59.

Mr. Donovan was a native of Vicksburg and a graduate of St. Aloysius High School. He was an electrical designer for Poley Flow Engineers in California for 20 years before retiring in 1995. He moved back to Vicksburg and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Idell Hall Donovan.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia “Patsy” Allen Donovan of Vicksburg; a son, Christopher Joseph Donovan Sr. of Vicksburg; a daughter, Amber “Lee” Donovan of Vicksburg; three brothers, William “Bill” Donovan Jr. of Woodland, Texas, Michael “Mike” Donovan of Vicksburg and Frank Donovan of Mobile, Ala.; and two grandchildren.

Fisher Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

SHIRLEY EZELL FORTENBERRY

TRANSYLVANIA, La. Shirley Ezell Fortenberry died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, La. She was 67.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rex Orien Ezell and Hazell Ezell; and two grandsons, Justin Fortenberry and Wade Fortenberry.

Survivors include her husband, Clinton Fortenberry of Transylvania, La.; a son, David Fortenberry of Transylvania; four daughters, Lynne Grady of Tallulah, Danna Gillett of Rayville, Laura Johnson of Lake Providence and Liz Roland-Roussel of Transylvania; nine grandchildren; and other relatives.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Transylvania Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Memorial Cemetery in Lake Providence under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Lake Providence.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Roger Knight, Lance Prine, Jimmy Stuart, Richard Brock, David Brock and Dennis Fortenberry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ormond Patrick, Sheldon Ezell, Racer Holstead, I.T. Crothers and Gene Haley.

MILTON KLINE

Milton Kline died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 88.

Mr. Kline attended Tulane University and the University of Mississippi. He was a farmer before volunteering for the Army in 1941. After World War II he returned to farming before retiring in 1970. He was director of the Bank of Anguilla in Anguilla and First National Bank in Vicksburg and a member of the Rotary Club and co-founder of the Sharkey Country Club.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Baskind Kline; a son, Henry Kline II of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, Leslie Kline Miller of Rolling Fork; and three grandchildren, Joshua Kline Miller of Yazoo City, Karen Miller Lowe of Brandon and Eric Arthur Miller of Starkville.

Visitation will be from 1 until 2 p.m. Tuesday at Anshe Chesed Temple with services following at Anshe Cemetery.

FANNIE M. MORRIS

DELHI Fannie M. Morris died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at The Olive Branch in Richmond, La. She was 86.

Mrs. Morris was a former resident of Epps and a member of the Old Midway Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Morris; a son, Tommy E. Morris; a daughter, Juanice Spicher; and her parents, Ed and Martha Warren.

Survivors include a daughter, Sophie Walker of Vicksburg; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Cox Funeral Chapel in Delhi, La. with the Rev. Kenneth King officiating. Burial followed at Faith Memorial Park Cemetery in Delhi.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Morris, Glascell Morris, Leo Coleman, Ralph Green, Rochelle Morris and Wayne Yeates.

NATHAN PETTIS

PRENTISS Nathan Pettis died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at Magee General Hospital. He was 82.

Mr. Pettis was a World War II veteran of the Army, a retired orderly of the Veterans Hospital in Jackson, a member of the American Legion in Jackson and New Hebron Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Eddie Pettis of Vicksburg; two daughters Milly Woods of Las Vegas and Myrtis Nyiri of Jackson; a brother, James A. “Boss” Pettis of Vernon, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Saulters-Moore Chapel in Prentiss, Miss. Burial will follow at New Hebron Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

MARGARET DELORES SCOTT

Services for Margaret Delores Scott will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Clover Valley M.B. Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service at the church.

Mrs. Scott died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 79.

She was a former resident of Kansas City, Mo., and a member of Clover Valley M.B. Church where she served on the Mother Board.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Scott Sr.; and a brother, Emmitt Collins.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Scott Jr. of Minneapolis, Minn., and Robert Scott and Timothy Scott, both of Vicksburg; three daughters, Jan Scott-McDonald of Minneapolis, Trina Scott-Turner of Vicksburg and Sherry Taylor of Atlanta; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
