Jacqueline Miller Dunmore

Jacqueline Miller Dunmore died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 55.

A resident of Vicksburg, Ms. Dunmore was employed by the Vicksburg Warren School District. She was a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Freetown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas Miller and Mary Middleton Miller; a sister, Shyrl Miller Thrash; and a brother, Edward Earl Miller.

Survivors include a daughter, Rose Mary Dunmore of Vicksburg; a son, Douglas Marshand Miller of Vicksburg; a brother, Jackie Leon Miller of Vicksburg; a grandson, Benjamin Thomas Brooks of Vicksburg; and other relatives and friends.

Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.

Dr. Harold Tracy Gallaspy

Dr. Harold Tracy Gallaspy died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. He was 89.

A native of Newton, Dr. Gallaspy was the son of William Tracy and Alma Still Gallaspy. He was a graduate of Mississippi College and received his doctorate in religious education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

He attended Vandercook School of Music in Chicago and the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. He served in the Army in World War II and played in the U.S. Army Band.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Hammond Gallaspy of Vicksburg; one daughter, Susan G. Loflin of Vicksburg; two sons, David Tracy Gallaspy of Canton, Ga., and Gunnery Sgt. William Harold Gallaspy of Hubert, N.C.; one sister, Evelyn G. Thrash of Newton; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Crawford Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Geoffrey Joyner officiating. Burial will follow at Knights of Phythias Cemetery in Newton.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday until the service at Wesley Hall-Crawford Street United Methodist Church.

Barnie Longmire

PORT GIBSON Barnie Longmire died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was 68.

Mr. Longmire was a resident of Port Gibson.

He is survived by his wife, Florine Longmire of Port Gibson; two sons, Ralphael Longmire of Chicago and Justin Longmire of Port Gibson; two brothers, C.B. Longmire and Junior Longmire, both of Crosby, Miss.; a sister, Johnnie L. Longmire of Natchez; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. James Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at McCay Cemetery in Russum, Miss., under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the service Monday at the church.

Mattie J. Parker

Mattie J. Parker died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 92.

Mrs. Parker was a member of Mercy Seat M.B. Church where she served as a past president of the Senior Choir, youth director, Sunday school teacher, secretary of the church, president of the Baptist Training Union, Deacon Wives Club and Mother Board. She was a member of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include three daughters, Eleanor Chambers of Chicago and Rose Parker Rozier and Lula Parker Tate, both of Milwaukee, Wis.; two sons, Mack Parker Jr. of Vicksburg and Malcolm Parker of Chicago; 28 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
