Marie Brock Catron

OAK GROVE Marie Brock Catron died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Carroll Nursing Home in Oak Grove. She was 95.

Mrs. Catron was a resident of Oak Grove.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugie Lee Catron; her parents, Joseph Richard Brock and Gussie Sebren Brock; and five brothers, Leroy Brock, Clifton Brock, Grady Brock, Kelly Brock and J.D. Brock.

Survivors include three brothers, Ray Brock of Clinton, M.V. “Pete” Brock of San Diego, Calif., and Eugie Lee Brock of Gretna, La.; two sisters, Martha B. Wood of Breal, Calif., and Maudie Brock Parmentier of Oak Grove; and other relatives.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove with the Rev. Chad Ballard officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be until 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Fred Bolding, Tom Sharplin, Hatten Tuggle, Vendal Fairchild, Lavelle Brown and Howard Ainsworth.

Mary Stimage Davis

Mary Stimage Davis died Wednesday, April 7, 2004, in Columbia, S.C. She was 57.

Mrs. Davis was born in Sharkey County and graduated from Rosa Temple High School. She was a former member of Cool Spring M.B. Church.

She lived in Germany with her husband for a number of years, then moved to Columbia, where she had worked for the Joe E. Mann Recreational Center at Fort Jackson for the past 28 years. She was a member of Brookland Baptist Church.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her mother, Della Stimage; two sisters, Deleslie Stimage and Betty Willis; and two brothers, John Lee and Leander Willis.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Davis; a daughter, Demetrius Seawright of Columbia; a son, Henry F. Davis Jr. of Miami; three sisters, Della Deann Brown and Lisa Belinda Willis, both of Vicksburg, and Josie Johnson of Columbia; three brothers, Tommy Stimage and Billy Ray Willis, both of East Orange, N.J., and the Rev. Joseph Willis of Jackson; two grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Blanton Cemetery in Blanton. Burial will follow under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Maylyn Willis Lucas

Maylyn Willis Lucas died Thursday, April 8, 2004, at her home. She was 25.

Born in Ogden, Utah, Mrs. Lucas was a resident of Vicksburg.

She is survived by her husband, Kevin Lucas of Vicksburg; a daughter, Tina Marie Kline of Vicksburg; a son, Hunter Edgell Lucas of Vicksburg; her mother, Jacqueline Kline of Vicksburg; her father, Wayne Kline of Vicksburg; a sister, Alexis Wright of Equality, Ala.; her grandparents, James W. and Danielle J. Edgell of Equality; and other relatives.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Radney Funeral Home in Alexander City, Ala., with the Rev. Jimmy Bass officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Cecil Perkins

Cecil Perkins died Monday, April 12, 2004, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. He was 77.

Mr. Perkins was preceded in death by a son, Vincent Perkins; a daughter, Lenora Perkins; and a sister, Mary Lou Barnett.

He is survived by three sons, Richard Perkins of Matteson, Ill., Vernard Perkins of Chicago and Parrie Perkins of Vicksburg; one sister, Lovie Wright of New York; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Johnny and Doris Davis of Vicksburg.

Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
