VAA offering work space to artists this summer
The Vicksburg Art Association will offer work space at the Constitution Firehouse Gallery to adult artists.
The building at Main and Openwood streets will be open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. each Tuesday through Aug. 26. The fee is $15. For information, call Elkie Briuer at 601-634-0434 or e-mail briuere@bellsouth.net.
RobertSt. JohnWyatt WatersChef, artist teaming up for show in Vicksburg
The Dual Demo, an art and cooking demonstration by Hattiesburg chef and restaurant owner Robert St. John and Clinton watercolor artist Wyatt Waters, will be at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center at 6 p.m. Aug. 2. A book signing will follow.

Fairy camp for girls set at Biedenharn Museum
The Biedenharn Museum and Gardens in Monroe will host a day camp for girls ages 7-10.
Fairy Wings and Garden Things Day will be from 9 a.m. until noon June 9-13. Activities will include making a fairy garden and creating fairy wings.
The fee is $70. Pre-registration is required. The camp is limited to 40 children.

Monkey, sports bloopers on tap at kids’ museum
The Children’s Museum of Memphis has announced two events
The Curious George: Let’s Get Curious! exhibit will be at the museum from June 14-Sept. 28. Admission is free for children younger than 1, $7 for children up to age 12, $8 for adults and $7 for senior citizens age 65 and older.
On June 14 at 2 p.m. will be Team: Daddy & Me. The event will be emceed by Commercial Appeal sports reporter Geoff Calkins and will include watching sports bloopers and team races.
Admission is $7 for members and $12 for nonmembers, which includes museum admission. Tickets must be purchased by Friday.

Audubon club to elect new officers Tuesday
The Jackson Audubon Society’s monthly chapter meeting, potluck supper and election of officers will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Eudora Welty Library, 300 N. State St., in Jackson.
Dr. Sherry Surrette, coordinator of the Mississippi Natural Heritage Program of the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, will speak. The event is free. Participants are asked to bring a dish.
